As I mentioned in each of the previous emails, the resource leak is visible (although not yet hurting system performance - that takes a couple of weeks) immediately after a reboot.  Every time LiveUpdate runs, it leaks 42 handles.  I have restarted several times now, without any change - Symlcsvc.exe still leaks 42 handles each time LiveUpdate runs.

I just followed the directions in
http://service1.symantec.com/Support/sharedtech.nsf/docid/2000071310294913?Open&src=con_ols_nam   , including running the Autofix tool, which found no problems.
LiveUpdate was already properly configured for FTP and HTTP.  The ISP settings included an obsolete dial-up connection, which I deleted.
Running LiveUpdate again, still leaked 42 handles.

Referencing http://service1.symantec.com/Support/sharedtech.nsf/docid/2002121013485013?Open&src=con_ols_nam
I changed LiveUpdate from Express Mode to Interactive, and selected the Enhanced Error Support Option, as directed.
Running LiveUpdate again, again showed a leak of 42 handles.

So far, the behavior is extremely consistant, and none of your suggestions have changed anything.
Upon Reboot, Symlcsvc.exe uses 136 handles.
After running LiveUpdate, it now uses 178 Handles.
After running again, now 220
then 262
After a significant pause (during which I don't know if LiveUpdate ran or not), the handles used were 324
Running LiveUpdate again raised the number of handles to 366
Running again, to 408.

With regard to free disk space, I currently have 11.6 GB free, of the 53.7Gb C: Partition, so it does not seem productive for me to remove much - if you can't run in 11Gb, or a disk that is 20% empty, there are bigger problems.

The D: drive is a memory stick slot, with nothing in it.
The E: Drive is a DVD-RW Drive, with nothing in it.
The 2nd partition on the Disk is G:, with 1.56 GB free of 20.8Gb.

Here is the information on Free Memory, and swap space:

As you can see, there is plenty of available swap space, and it is a 1Gb system.
Here is a Task Manager snapshot before running LiveUpdate, and immediately after running LiveUpdate.  I drew a rectangle around the relevant values.

After:

Also, here is what SysInternals ProcExp shows - which clearly shows the same object leaking over and over:

And if you scroll all the way down, you see:

To be fair, how about you add the appropriate columns to your Task Manager, and tell me how many handles Symlcsvc.exe is using on your machine, then run LiveUpdate, and see how many it uses then?

Does your QA department test running LiveUpdate 200 times in a row without rebooting, and check the resource usage?
