Product Overview

There are a number of ways to develop an Intellisync custom solution. At the core of all possible solutions is the Intellisync synchronization engine. The Intellisync SDK lets you leverage your users' most popular PIM applications and devices, such as Microsoft Outlook and Palm^TM handhelds, to extend your reach and ensure that your users will be able to work with your service or product whether they are at home, at the office or on the road.

The Intellisync platform supports:

• Synchronization of calendar, e-mail, contact and task data
• Advanced conflict detection and resolution
• Custom field mapping
• Synchronization from behind a firewall
• Time zone resolution (Palm OS only)
• The most common PIM applications and devices
• Additional Connectors as they are needed or developed
• Groupware features

Intellisync SDK Solution

If you're looking for the highest level of customization, license the Intellisync engine, Connector(s), and the Intellisync SDK.

Intellisync Toolkits Solution

If you're looking to decrease development and deployment time and costs, license the Intellisync engine, Connector(s), and either the Intellisync for Web or Intellisync for Desktop toolkit.

Required Components	Description
Sync Engine	All custom synchronization solutions require the Intellisync engine. This is the core component of the project. All development is done so that data can be sent to and received from the sync engine. Pumatech holds 9 patents for synchronization technology. These are the core behind the robust capabilities of the sync engine.
Connector	Since the goal of a sync solution is to synchronize your application with other applications, you will need to license one or more Connectors. These will be implemented into your final product. These Connectors will allow your users to synchronize your application with other popular information management applications.
Intellisync for Web	A toolkit that provides a pre-built Connector and easily customized/branded Intellisync desktop client. Your developers do not need to implement any code on the client - only the server-side code in XML to communicate with your custom application. This approach greatly reduces the time needed to develop and deploy a solution. NOTE: Intellisync SDK License required
