Pumatech to showcase Intellisync® for Oracle software at Oracle AppsWorld 2003

SAN JOSE, Calif. (01/20/03) - Pumatech, Inc. (NASDAQ: PUMA), the leading provider of synchronization software and services and a Member Partner of the Oracle® PartnerNetwork, is publicly unveiling its Intellisync for Oracle software at this week's Oracle AppsWorld 2003 event in San Diego, Calif. Intellisync for Oracle is a powerful solution that synchronizes the Oracle E-Business Suite Calendar with either Microsoft Outlook or Palm OS® handhelds. The Oracle E-Business Suite Calendar is currently available in the following Oracle E-Business Suite applications: Oracle Sales Online, Oracle TeleSales and Oracle Marketing Online.

Pumatech will showcase its Intellisync for Oracle software in the Oracle Partner Pavilion (Booth 335) at Oracle AppsWorld 2003, scheduled for January 19-22 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.

Intellisync for Oracle addresses one of the biggest issues facing enterprise IT management - that of application integration. According to the Gartner industry research and advisory firm (June, 2002), "The application integration challenge will be one of the most important IT challenges during the next five years, thus driving the application integration middleware market to double in new software licenses." Oracle approached Pumatech to help develop a powerful solution that would integrate and synchronize its E-Business Suite application with the popular Microsoft Outlook groupware product. Oracle's objective was accomplished by embedding Pumatech's industry-leading Intellisync synchronization engine, which has been licensed by more than 200 partners.

Intellisync® for Oracle provides two-way synchronization of appointments, business contacts and to-do lists between the Oracle E-Business Suite and either Microsoft Outlook or Palm OS handhelds. The product ensures accuracy and reliability by incorporating patented Intellisync capabilities such as conflict resolution (eliminates duplicate entries) and data filtering (allows users to sync specific ranges of information).

"By teaming up with Pumatech to create the Intellisync® for Oracle solution, we are enabling our customers to extend the power of many of the Oracle E-Business Suite applications," said Mark Israelsen, vice president, Oracle market development partner programs. "Through a two-way synchronization process, users can access and manipulate essential contact, appointment and to-do information with the most popular productivity tools, such as Palm OS handhelds and Outlook."

"Oracle AppsWorld provides the perfect setting to unveil our Intellisync for Oracle software to the many users of Oracle E-Business Suite," said Clyde Foster, Pumatech's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We're looking forward to having the opportunity to demonstrate how the combination of Oracle E-Business Suite and Intellisync enables Oracle customers to maximize productivity and profits by dramatically reducing the time required to access essential information."
