Syntegra to Leverage "Intellisync for eCal'' Software to Enable Synchronization Between Handheld Devices, Popular PIMs and Web-based Calendaring Systems
Pumatech, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-level software products and services that deliver highly relevant information wherever and whenever it's needed, today announced that Syntegra, a global consulting and systems integration business, has licensed Pumatech's IntellisyncŪ engine to provide Web-based synchronization of calendar information for one of Syntegra's key enterprise customers. Initially, the technology is being made available through the eCal Web-based calendaring system, which incorporates Pumatech's Intellisync software. Syntegra and Pumatech are in discussions to extend the capabilities of this solution by integrating it with Syntegra's high-end messaging solution IntraStore Server, which includes the LDAP directory solution Aphelion.
``When the decision was made to extend Web-based calendaring services to our corporate customers, we wanted an out-of-the-box solution that would allow users to leverage their existing devices and systems to stay current on important meetings and schedule adjustments,'' said Luke Lucas, development manager for Syntegra. ``With the eCal Web-calendaring system and the complementary synchronization capabilities provided by Pumatech's Intellisync sync engine, we discovered an ideal solution that would enable our customers to share information between the devices and systems that they use every day. In the future, we hope to work more closely with Pumatech to provide our enterprise customers with additional capabilities.''
Through its current agreement with Pumatech, Syntegra gains the rights to distribute the run-time module of the Intellisync engine and Connectors that drive the eCal calendar system. This solution will enable Syntegra's customers to perform simultaneous, three-way synchronization of contacts, calendar, e-mail and notes among their Windows CE/Pocket PC or Palm OSŪ handheld devices, corporate PIM software and the eCal-powered Web-based calendaring system.
``Through our relationships with world-class systems integrators like Syntegra, we are able to reach a growing market of enterprise customers who are looking for highly customized solutions,'' said Brad Rowe, president and CEO of Pumatech. ``By utilizing our Intellisync synchronization engine, Syntegra will be able to provide its customers with a key facet of any Real-time Enterprise infrastructure -- the ability to stay up-to-date on important changes to business and personal information across devices and systems.''
