SAN JOSE, Calif. (12/11/02) - Pumatech, Inc. (NASDAQ: PUMA), the leading provider of synchronization software and services, today announced a co-development agreement with SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), the world's leading provider of e-business software solutions. The companies will work together to develop a solution that provides server-to-server connectivity and synchronization between Pumatech's industry-leading Enterprise Intellisync® Server technology and SAP® e-solutions - including mySAP® Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM). The jointly developed solution will enable customers using mySAP CRM to synchronize calendar, contact and task data directly with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes groupware.
Under the terms of the agreement, SAP and Pumatech will use Pumatech's XML toolkit software to establish server-to-server connectivity between mySAP CRM and Pumatech's Enterprise Intellisync Server. Pumatech will market the new solution to its installed base of corporate customers and to enterprise prospects.
Pumatech's Enterprise Intellisync Server software provides a single resource for synchronizing PIM, e-mail and custom database information, both locally and remotely, between desktop PCs, servers and mobile devices - and for managing handheld software and devices from one centralized location.
"SAP joins the growing number of software providers that are utilizing Pumatech's powerful Enterprise Intellisync Server to connect their own server-based software solution directly to enterprise groupware like Exchange and Notes," said Pumatech Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Clyde Foster. "Pumatech has helped more than 200 successful companies like SAP to leverage the Intellisync synchronization engine to extend the capabilities of their products and services. We look forward to working with SAP to make our joint solution a natural addition for any organization utilizing mySAP CRM and either Exchange or Notes."
