Pumatech has released Enterprise Intellisync, Second Edition, with new features that give Information Technology (IT) more flexibility. Pumatech adds server-based synchronization in addition to the desktop-based method its Intellisync product has always offered. Here is a snapshot of what new features are included:

  • Server-based synchronization--Synchronizing Product Information Management (PIM), e-mail, and corporate database information between PCs, servers, and mobile devices, both locally and remotely
  • Central console--Enhanced centralized IT console to configure, deploy, and upgrade software, locally or remotely
  • Asset management--Improved administrative features to track and manage mobile devices as corporate assets

The most important new feature is the ability to synchronize with server-based content, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle 9i, and other Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)-compliant data sources. Intellisync Enterprise, Second Edition still handles the simple, most frequently utilized functions, such as synchronization with PIM and e-mail information. However, when the enterprise is ready to increase mobile functionality, the product’s features are now enhanced so that critical real-time data can be synched in a secure, stable, and flexible manner. Pumatech isn’t about to forget that its buyers have always been located within the IT organization. Its enhanced management functionality is designed to save IT time and resources while also providing the ability to provide critical real-time information to employees within and outside the four walls of the enterprise.
