Pumatech Adds Pocket PC Support to Mobile Developer Software

San Jose, CA, April 17, 2002 -- (MobileVillage) -- Pumatech released the latest upgrade (5.0) of its Satellite Forms MobileApp Designer software, which aims to enable development of handheld applications that integrate with desktop database applications or with server-based data. This latest version now allows development of custom applications for Pocket PC 2002 handhelds, in addition to Palm OS-based devices.

Satellite Forms can be used by designers without any knowledge of programming, simply by "dragging and dropping". Satellite Forms 5.0 is designed to work with Pumatech's Enterprise Intellisync Server to provide connectivity between these mobile applications and essential corporate data residing in solutions such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other ODBC-compliant data sources. Enterprise Intellisync Server supports multiple secure device connections via wireless and direct network cradle connectivity, as well as device cradle sync.

The Satellite Forms MobileApp Designer 5.0 package also includes a centralized Administrator's Console (part of the Enterprise Intellisync Server) for configuring, deploying and upgrading mobile software applications, and for managing handheld devices.

The Satellite Forms Mobile App Designer 5.0 package includes Pumatech's recently introduced Enterprise Intellisync, Second Edition software. Besides providing server-based connectivity for Satellite Forms, Enterprise Intellisync offerrs desktop, LAN-based and remote synchronization of e-mail, calendar, contacts and tasks among Palm OS/Windows CE/Pocket PC handhelds and groupware applications like Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes.
