  2. Common PHP Errormessages
  3. Common PHP Warning messages

1. yappa-ng ERROR codes

All "yappa-ng ERROR codes" are generated by yappa-ng. They all start with a "yappa-ng_ERROR_xxx". If you get Errormessages or Warnings (or even Notices) you have to look into Part 2 (Common PHP Errormessages) or Part 3 (Common PHP Warning messages).

You may never see any of these error-messages if the setup is correct. I make every effort to make yappa-ng a "drop into place and run" installation. alas - the devil never sleeps! :-O So IF you see an error message: here is some little help to resolve the issue. ;-)

yappa-ng makes an initial check on startup for some vital components. Most of the ERROR-messages will only be encountered during initial setup of yappa-ng. They are a way to help YOU setup yappa-ng faster in telling you exactly WHY yappa-ng is not running (or - at least - it is an attempt to do this!) ;-)

You can switch the WARNINGS on and off in the "config.inc.php" !!! It is recommended to start operation with "send_warnings" 1. When yappa-ng runs smoothly you should turn it off (0).

000 - 299 FATAL ERRORS

All FATAL Errors have one thing in common: yappa-ng STOPPED its execution and will NOT continue until this ERROR is solved!

yappa-ng_ERROR_010: config.inc.php missing!!!

Type:FATAL
Explanation:yappa-ng cannot find (or read/write) the file "config.inc.php" in your yappa-ng Source Directory! This is the global configuration file which is NEEDED!
Solution:Please make sure this file is in the yappa-ng Sourcecode directory AND the webserver can read it (read permission on file and directory)!
Consequence:yappa-ng STOPPED its execution and will NOT continue until this ERROR is solved

->Back to TOP

yappa-ng_ERROR_020: photo_root not set!!!

Type:FATAL
Explanation:yappa-ng cannot find the Main Photo Directory "photo_root" you set in the setup (file "config.inc.php")! Without this directory yappa-ng cannot start its operation!
Solution:
  • Run setup.php again
  • Set the complete UNIX/Windows-path (correct) instead of the path from the webserver-root (wrong)!
  • Make sure this directory is read AND writable for your webserver!
Consequence:yappa-ng STOPPED its execution and will NOT continue until this ERROR is solved

->Back to TOP

yappa-ng_ERROR_021: no config_album.inc.php in photo_root!

Type:FATAL
Explanation:yappa-ng cannot find the file "config_album.inc.php" in your Main Photo Directory ("photo_root")!
Solution: Please copy the file "config_album.inc.php" from the yappa-ng source (=Original release package) into the directory you defined in the setup as Main Photo Directory!
Please make sure this file is
  • readable for your webserver!
  • writeable for your webserver!
  • check the directory-permissions too (should be read and write for the webserver!!)! ;-)
Consequence:yappa-ng STOPPED its execution and will NOT continue until this ERROR is solved

->Back to TOP

yappa-ng_ERROR_030: NO language-file found!!!

Type:FATAL
Explanation:yappa-ng cannot find any language-file in the yappa-ng/languages/ directory! Because EVERY message/text in yappa-ng is within these language-files you would get absolutely no text! Language-files are named lang_xxx.inc.php - where "xxx" stands for a 3-letter-code of the language.
Solution:Please copy at least one language file "lang_xxx.inc.php" from the yappa-ng source (=Original release package) into the yappa-ng/languages directory!
Please make sure this (these) file(s) is(are)
  • readable for your webserver!
  • writeable for your webserver!
  • check the directory-permissions of the languages directory too (should be read for the webserver!)! ;-)
Consequence:yappa-ng STOPPED its execution and will NOT continue until this ERROR is solved

->Back to TOP

yappa-ng_ERROR_031: Default langage not configured correctly!

Type:FATAL
Explanation:yappa-ng cannot find the default language-file in the yappa-ng/languages directory! Because EVERY message/text in yappa-ng is within these language-files you would get absolutely no text.
Even if you have the "autodetect_language" ON or the "lang_support" is NO you HAVE TO name an EXISTING language as default language!!
Language-files are named lang_xxx.inc.php - where "xxx" stands for a 3-letter-code of the language.
For the correct name which you have to configure in the config.inc.php (Language-section) you can take a look into the selected languagefile (about line 127: "name" => "LanguageName").
Solution:Please copy at least the default language file "lang_xxx.inc.php" from the yappa-ng source (=Original release package) into the yappa-ng/languages directory!
Maybe run setup.php again!

300 - 499 SEVERE WARNINGS

All SEVERE WARNINGS will lead to more or less nonfunctionality of the global yappa-ng Gallery. You will either see no images or have other severe handicaps, but yappa-ng will not stop its execution!

yappa-ng_ERROR_310: convert utility not found!

Type:SEVERE WARNING
Explanation:You configured yappa-ng to use the convert utility from ImageMagick. yappa-ng cannot use / find the file you defined in the setup procedure ("config.inc.php" file). This is no fatal error, but you will not see ANY converted images! If everything else is set up correctly you will see the image if you click onto the image in the thumbnail page to come to the single-image-view and there set the view-size to "original". NOW you should see the image. (No converting is done with the "original" setting.)
Solution: Run the setup script (setup.php) again!
Maybe ImageMagick is not installed correctly on your server? If this Warning keeps coming try GD.
Consequence:yappa-ng CONTINUED its operation, but you will see no converted images!
Followup PHP warnings like "header already sent" are likely!

yappa-ng_ERROR_320: cache_root not found!

Type:SEVERE WARNING
Explanation:You configured yappa-ng to cache the converted images to gain considerable speed. yappa-ng cannot find the directory you defined in the setup procedure ("config.inc.php" file).
Please make sure this directory is
  • readable for your webserver!
  • writeable for your webserver!
If this Warning keeps coming disable caching with the setup tool (yappa-ng will be slower - but it will run!) :-)
Consequence:yappa-ng CONTINUED its operation, but you will see no converted images!
Followup PHP warnings like "header already sent" are likely!

Type:WARNING
Explanation:yappa-ng did not find the file "cannot-delete-album" in your Main Photo Directory ["photo_root"]. Only the existance of the file is checked, NOT what is in it (default = zero-byte-file).
If someone with yappa-ng Album admin-rights to your Main Photo Directory ["photo_root"] deletes the Main Photo Directory (on purpose or not) yappa-ng will stop execution and you will get the error: yappa-ng_ERROR_020: photo_root not set!!!. For details to this file please read the FAQ.html.

. Without this file you will have NO album hits-counter!!!
(This counter is NOT connected to the individual image-counters of the albums!)
For details please refer to the FAQ.html!
Solution:Be sure that your "hits.log" in your yappa-ng Main Source Directory ["source_root"] is read and writable for the webserver. If you deleted this hits.log than copy the file from the original yappa-ng distribution to the Main Source Directory! ["source_root"]
